Our two year training contract gives you hands on experience and a highly personal feel. The contract compromises of four six month seats in the following practice areas:
As part of the SRA requirements for qualification, you must gain experience in at least three different areas of law during your training contract, including one that involves contentious work. We have developed a number of ways in which trainees can gain the contentious experience necessary to meet the SRA’s requirements.
Whilst there is inevitably high demand to be seated in some areas, we seek to give you as much scope as possible to shape the direction of your training. In addition to SRA requirements we endeavour to enable all trainees to complete a seat in both our non-contentious practice areas and our Litigation department.
Edwin Coe is committed to helping trainees develop into competent and confident solicitors. You will be given the opportunity for ‘hands on’ involvement including managing your own files. Throughout your training period, there will be a continuous process of two way feedback. The firm operates mid seat reviews and end of seat reviews, with the aim of monitoring your progress and supporting your development over the course of the two years.
If you receive an offer of a training contract, you probably won’t start here for around two years. To ensure you start to feel part of the team and in order for you to get to know your peers, we will be in regular contact with you and invite you to various social events.
Students who accept a training contract with Edwin Coe LLP will be provided with sponsorship for the LPC course fees, provided they have yet to complete the course.
